Olympic Air is the airline that derived from the privatization of Olympic Airlines (former Olympic Airways). Olympic was first established in 1957 by Aristotle Onassis and became for years the flag carrier airline of Greece. In 2012, Olympic Air has been acquired by Aegean Airlines.
Olympic Air is based at the Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" and has secondary hubs at Thessaloniki "Macedonia" Airport and Rhodes "Diagoras" Airport.
After the acquisition, Olympic Air operates mainly domestic routes and 5 international to Belgrade, Bucharest, Sofia, Tirana and Istanbul. In addition, the airline has established code-share partnerships with global airlines, allowing for access to a series of worldwide destinations.
